My Journey

I have had a great journey both professionally and personally. I worked for global companies like Deloitte, EY, Accenture, Cognizant and TechM in leadership positions.

Over various stints, I have come across brilliant CxOs and Senior Leaders and learnt by working closely with them.

Academically, I had the opportunity to study in top institutions including St. Xavier’s Kolkata, Jadavpur Univeristy and XLRI Jamshedpur.

When I look back at my journey, it all looks good today. But in reality, like everyone else I too went through many highs and lows.

Giving up is easy. Staying there is not. The choices you make today is the foundation of your future.

As a kid, I never received pocket money from my parents because my family always stayed under financial pressure.

When I completed Class X, I started giving tuition to have enough money to fund my college fees and return bus fare.

My dream was to study in an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) but I had no money to join a coaching institute. Being from a family of commerce graduates and without any guidance, I failed miserably.

I studied hard and got into Jadavpur University where I graduated as a University Gold Medallist. I continued to teach; two of my four students of Class XII made it to IITKGP.

My dream was to do Masters in a US University, but I had no money even for the application process. I took GATE and got an AIR 31 but I couldn’t continue to study. I joined work as my family needed help.

Life gave me a second chance and I landed up in XLRI Jamshedpur. After completing my MBA, I was now looking at a future with no money in the pocket and a heavy student loan on my head.

Yet I stand here today with gratitude and humility of having accepted all. I feel “Life is Beautiful” and every challenge that we go through makes us better.

Today, I am happy, content and a have sense of achievement as I have not only made significant progress myself but have also helped many in their journeys.
