I learned something brilliant from Sakshi.
She is the Coffee Bar manager at a McDonald’s outlet.
I ordered a burger and a cappuccino.
The server brought me the burger at my table.
I was waiting for my coffee.
I saw Sakshi come over.
She was carrying brewed coffee, a milk jug, and a few more things.
She greeted me with a warm smile.
“Sir, welcome to our outlet! You are our first customer today. We prepare coffee for our first customer on the table. So, I am going to prepare it here for you!”
She prepared a nice cup of cappuccino marked with the “M” logo.
Her colleague took our picture.
She went back to the coffee bar.
She made me feel so special.
It was a brilliant lesson in driving up customer delight.
Lessons learned:
1. If you make others feel special, they remember you.
2. Your smile and good manners make a big difference.
3. Stakeholders always appreciate good work ethics.
