I heard this from one of my clients who recently made a move. While he keeps getting emails from his manager, as well as they get on conference calls with others, he never had a 1-on-1 with him.
His demotivation was due to a lack of interest from his manager. On reaching out to HR, he got an answer, “๐๐’๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐.”
Strangely, organizations ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ค๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ก๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ข ๐ฉ๐ค ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ช๐๐๐ก๐. They think that is the best way to learn. Well, the seniors may have learnt it the hard way. Today, ๐๐ค๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐ ๐จ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐, ๐ฃ๐ช๐ง๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐๐, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐๐.
If they are disengaged, they will leave. Organizations lose good talent who could have helped in scaling up, yet the apathy ๐ก๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ข ๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ ๐ฃ๐ค ๐ค๐ฉ๐๐๐ง ๐ค๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐ซ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ช๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐ง๐๐จ๐๐๐ฃ.
