“๐—œ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜… ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ต๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ท๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด.”

I heard this from one of my clients who recently made a move. While he keeps getting emails from his manager, as well as they get on conference calls with others, he never had a 1-on-1 with him.

His demotivation was due to a lack of interest from his manager. On reaching out to HR, he got an answer, “๐—œ๐˜’๐˜€ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€.”

Strangely, organizations ๐™๐™ž๐™ง๐™š ๐™œ๐™ค๐™ค๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™ก๐™š๐™–๐™ซ๐™š ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ข ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ช๐™œ๐™œ๐™ก๐™š. They think that is the best way to learn. Well, the seniors may have learnt it the hard way. Today, ๐™œ๐™ค๐™ค๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ ๐™๐™–๐™จ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™—๐™š ๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™™, ๐™ฃ๐™ช๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™ง๐™š๐™™, ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ง๐™š๐™™.

If they are disengaged, they will leave. Organizations lose good talent who could have helped in scaling up, yet the apathy ๐™ก๐™š๐™–๐™ซ๐™š๐™จ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ข ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ฃ๐™ค ๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ง ๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ ๐™—๐™ช๐™ฉ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™–๐™ก๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™ง๐™š๐™จ๐™ž๐™œ๐™ฃ.
