Women in GCCs are rising!

A recent article from TOI titled “Women leaders script India’s GCC story” discusses women leaders at the helm of Global Capability Centers of firms like JLR, Lloyds, Optum, HSBC, and more.

It doesn’t surprise me, but it confirms my hypothesis that “more and more women will be leading large workforces as part of top management.”

The article also talks about gender stereotyping in the workplace. Yet, it has not deterred the growth of women leaders.

I have been coaching a few women leaders in GCC with ~20 years of work experience. In my coaching experience, I have seen them appear ambitious, sharp, structured, empathetic, and with a go-getter attitude. I find them superior to their global peers, and high willpower differentiates them.

The article focuses on MD roles only, yet the real potential is in the growth of the women leadership pool for mid and senior management roles.

Diversity in the workforce is a blessing, and organizations should continue to leverage it by making their culture equitable and inclusive.
